The product:

This photoreactor allows rejected water depollution rich with polluting resistant molecules . The treatment process used is the solar photocatalysis which proved its effectiveness in depollution through mineralization, in aqueous medium, of the toxic organic molecules for Men and environment.

The photoreactor is made in the workshops of the Solar Equipment Development Unit (UDES), it is designed for polluted water treatment in closed circuit it uses a photovoltaic system that ensures energy independence.

The technique used consists in the addition, in water to be treated, of a recoverable semiconductor catalyst at the end of the treatment ( dioxide titanium , TiO2, ZnO…) and its irradiation by an ultraviolet source of light which is the sun. The technique is integrated thus within a framework of sustainable development.

Prospects of the project :

  • Optimization of the photoreactor
  • Integration of artificial UV radiation
  • Industrial automation and extrapolation

Socio-economic impact :

  • To refine the purification of waste water for their re-use, the protection of the rejection zones , the public health
  • To incite to the renewable energy use in the sector of purification for costs reduction and environmental protection,
  • Encouraging of the installation of a partnership between the scientific research institutions and the socio-economic partners,
  • Extrapolation of the research results for their application on the industrial scale.
