Study Day at UDES: “Smart Lighting for Better Energy Management”

    The Solar Equipment's Development Unit (UDES/EPST CDER) organized a study day on intelligent lighting and its role in energy saving entitled: “Smart Lighting for Better Energy Management” on May 21st , 2024, at its headquarters located in BouIsmail.

In his welcome speech Dr. M. Abbas, Director of the Solar Equipment’s Development Unit (UDES / EPST CDER), in the presence of representatives of the General Directorate of Scientific Research and Technological Development (DGRSDT), Professor N. Abdelbaki, Director of the Renewable Energies Development Center (EPST/CDER), executives and academics active in the field of energy efficiency and energy saving as well as industrialists, underlined the importance of intelligent lighting and the solutions provided by the technology in terms of energy management, at the same time, he highlighted the efforts made by UDES/EPST CDER in this area through the creation of photovoltaic stations for covering the electricity needs of the different UDES blocks.

The official opening of this day's work was given by PR. N. Abdelbaki who emphasized the importance of rationalizing energy consumption and this, through the study of the different methods which allow the reduction of the energy consumption rate in the field of public lighting .

This event offers researchers, socio-economic and industrials the opportunity to exchange their experiences in this field , in order to achieve better energy management and saving, by broadening its application in different fields and sectors, and thus contribute to the development of innovative technologies for highly energy efficient lighting.
Furthermore, this day was structured around plenary sessions and poster sessions led by specialists in the field from the research and industry sectors.
This event also includes presentations of researchers' projects as well as presentations from companies active in the field of lighting.


The day ended with the delivery of certificates of thanks to all the speakers.
