Solar Energy Cluster Days

  As part of the communication activities of the Solar Energy Cluster, the 1st Edition of the Solar Energy Cluster Days was organized by the EPST CDER at the headquarters of the Solar Equipment Development Unit (UDES / EPST CDER), on April 07th, 2021 in the presence of Prof.M. Hammoudi, President of the Solar Energy Cluster, Mr. Hadj Arab, Director of EPST CDER, Mr. Tassalit.D, Director of the Solar Equipments Development Unit (UDES/ EPST CDER) and a large number of participants from the economics, finance, research & development sectors.

  This day aims to present the current state of the solar sector in Algeria (industry and services) by dealing particularly with the theme of 'local content' in the light of the approach of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Renewable Energies aimed at deploying an annual capacity of 1000MW until 2035 in agreement with the industrial component supported by the Ministry of Industry (MI) as part of the establishment of suitable conditions for the creation of a dedicated industrial fabric.

  The Day was inaugurated by Prof. M. Hammoudi president of the Solar Energy Cluster who presented the program of the Day followed by the speech of Mr. Minister of Energy Transition and Renewable Energies Prof S. Chitour which emphasized the importance of the energy transition and the need to get out of fossil fuels towards green energy , besides the efforts made by the Ministry of Renewable Energies , afterthat, a presentation of an inventory of the solar photovoltaic sector in Algeria given by local actors (industry and services).

  Experts in the field from different institutions exchanged and debated various points with operators, including members of the Solar Energy Cluster, to better understand how “local content” is understood in public policies and how impulses can be given through policies. aimed at creating the conditions for the establishment of an ecosystem favorable to the development of the national solar industry and the ambitious program that the Ministry of Energy Transition and Energies intends to deploy in the coming days.
